When my father passed in late 2008, there was an unexpected flurry of activity surrounding the arrangements for
the memorial events and it didn’t occur to me at the time to make plans to videotape his funeral service.
To this day, I regret that I didn’t record the eulogy I delivered for my dad or the music that was sung
at his funeral Mass (including the beautiful Navy Hymn which he loved so much). I remember being startled by the
21-gun salute at the gravesite for a man who served his country proudly during World War II.
My brother played Taps for our dad on his trumpet -- another very moving moment --
and I regret that I have only a vague memory of that event.
The temperature that December day was below zero, driving conditions were treacherous, and some
were unable to attend the funeral. Looking back, it would have been nice to have been able to share
the events of the day with them but because the ceremonies weren’t recorded, this was not possible.
I would like to eliminate that missed opportunity for your family at one of the most
emotionally challenging times of life. If you would like a professionally shot and edited
remembrance of the funeral services for your loved one, I urge you to contact me.
